Vittorio Manassero got the University Degree in Civil Engineering at Turin Polytechnic in 1982, he is registered at the Order of Engineers since 1983 (now Order of Pavia at the n° 3464) and licensed to practice the Engineering profession. Knowledge of foreign languages: English and French. Vittorio Manassero, now C.E.O. and Technical Director at Underground Consulting (an independent expert consulting company in the field of Geotechnical and Underground Works, founded by himself in 2014), makes available to the customers his know-how, competence and the almost forty-years experience in the field of geotechnical and underground works, gained working, first, for specialized geotechnical contractors of primary importance all around the world, and then, in the last nine years, at Underground Consulting. His experience is whether for carrying out design, verification and validation, research and development, or as technical management, or for analysis of technical problems of particular complexity, or technical and technological assistance on jobsites; the consultancy support is available at all stages of the project: design, tender, negotiation, construction and possible disputes. His main areas of expertise are: soil improvement by grouting (permeation, penetration, hydro-fracturing), jet grouting, compaction grouting, deep soil mixing, cutter soil mixing, artificial ground freezing and drainage; compensation and uplift grouting; directional drilling and drilling below the water table; diaphragm walls and cut-off walls; piles (bored, CFA, FDP and secant), micropiles, berlin walls and anchors; tunnelling, dams, landslide stabilization by soil reinforcement and deep drainage; mechanized vertical shafts VSM (Vertical Shaft-sinking Machine) and raise boring. |
Previously Vittorio Manassero worked for thee specialized geotechnical contractors of primary importance.
- 1984 through 2004 RODIO S.p.A., where he worked within the Technical Department, operating mainly from the Milan head-office but he spent also frequent periods at jobsites in Italy and abroad. In 1996 he was appointed to Manager and Director at the Technical Department of the RODIO Group operating all around the world.
- 2004 through 2007 TREVI S.p.A., when RODIO was merged within the TREVI Group, he worked at the Design, Research and Development department as manager of the department at the former RODIO Milan office.
- 2007 through 2014 ICOTEKNE S.p.A., a young specialized geotechnical contractor with competence on the execution of a complete series of technologies for underground special works, as Technical Director.

Vittorio Manassero is now Member of the: Italian Commission UNI/CT021/SC07 on Geotechnical Design; International Commission ISSMGE/TC211 on Ground Improvement; Working Group CEN/TC288/WG20 for the European Standard on Artificial Ground Freezing; Editorial Committee of Rivista Italiana di Geotecnica; Scientific Committee of Gallerie e Grandi Opere Sotterranee. In the past he was member of the: Board at AGI (Italian Geotechnical Association) 2009 through 2022; Technical Working Group of EFFC (European Federation of Foundation contractors) 1990 through 2014; Working Group CEN/TC288/WG8 for the European Standard on Micropiles (issued on 2005); Working Group AGI for the Recommendations on Jet Grouting (issued on 2012); Working Group DFI for International Recommendations on Grouting of Soils and Rocks.
He has been member of various scientific commissions at national and international congresses and symposia.
He has been occasionally teacher at numerous Courses, Seminars and Masters at Milan Polytechnic, Turin Polytechnic, Rome Sapienza University, Cambridge University and at various Professional Orders (Engineers and Geologists).
He is author of about 60 technical papers published at national and international congresses and in technical and scientific magazines.
